lets me show you how to make modification for 83 mercury rectifier into your amplifier .schematic show you next
in normal using output capacitor are 47uF 350V or 47uF 500V using for 5U4G but can not use 83 because too much high for 83.

Just add one 0.27 ohms resistace in siries and add 16mF 450WV capacitor out put of rectfier.
Modificacion AX50 filament is 4 V please add 0.27 OHMS 2W resistanse siries
If possible add one of double thow swicth and first turn on filament after 1 minute turn on B+ switch for protect valves
Bad news is AX50 is not so good for amplifier , because only can be use for chorkinput circuit.
charactor of AX50 is not good for amplifier without Capacitor input cicuit , therefore no one use
this rectifier use valve amplifier. not stable for amplifier. please use 5U4 and 83.
AX50 is not so good for amplifier.or try to use cut and try for Test.

this rectifier only can be use with chork input ripple filter for valve amplifier.
chork input is bad stabilty for power supply as many person knows about can not use AX50.
Attention ..carefully if replace from 47uF capacitor to 16uF 450V capacitor
any electric capacitor has polarity so do not miss connect solder capacity as correct direction.
if you make miss take connection make explote capacitor so be carefull to connection.
